The Boy and The House

I tried to forget the little boy,

Trying to show me his broken toy,

A china house?, I thought it strange.

And then the Devil came,

He yelled and screamed, the boy he tried to run,

A slap and a shove, and then he left.

The child stayed,

He sat and cried alone, as he played

I watched him closely, what to do?

Oh my heart it felt so low,

And I’m sure that his did too,

Yet I don’t even know his name.

The Boy and The House.

He looked at me with pain in his eyes,

All I could do was sit there and cry,

As he started to cut himself.

Feelings of shame, I had to leave,

I went to my room and fell to my knees,

Memories racing through my mind.

Oh my heart it felt so low,

And I’m sure that his did too,

Yet I don’t even know his name.

The Boy and The House.

I left in the morning light,

The boy remained, confused and so unloved,

Growing up all on his own.

I tried to forget the little boy,

All I could do was sit and cry,

Memories racing through my mind.

Oh my heart it felt so low,

And I’m sure that his did too,

Yet I don’t even know his name.

Though it broke my heart in two,

There was nothing I could do,

Nothing to take away his pain.

And my heart it feels so blue,

You can be sure that his does too,

Still we don’t even know his name.
